Another Taste of Honey was a sequel that had to be written to ‘close the file’ on the antagonists who appeared in the first story. I’ve enjoyed deploying the lethal ex-detective again, this time in Europe. She accepts a friend’s advice and tries to blend in, but trouble is never far away.
I’ve used my tried and tested method of multiple drafts separated by ‘resting’ the manuscript for three or four weeks in between. As I’ve done before when writing a sequel, I immersed myself in the character’s world by rereading the previous story. I’m satisfied that the sequel contains all the ingredients my readers enjoy.
I’m confident that the eBook will be available before the end of this year, and the paperback will be published in January 2025.
It’s been four years since I last published an anthology of short stories, and I thought it was high time I produced another. Harriet and other stories presently consists of ten tales, and I aim to have two more written before the end of this year.
Why twelve tales in the anthology?
Since publishing Smoke & Mirrors & other stories in 2014, I’ve created twelve tales for each collection to make them better value. In this book, the majority, but not all, will have been submissions to the excellent quarterly Connections eMagazine, produced and published by Melanie P. Smith. Melanie offers an image as a ‘prompt’ for authors to write a 1,000-word short story for each edition.
I sincerely thank my regulars for choosing and supporting my brand. If you’re new to my writing, I hope you’ll soon become one of my valued readers
