My latest heroine is now available in digital format on the virtual bookshelves. The paperback edition will be available soon.
Constance began her existence in a supporting role in Crusader, but soon evolved as much more than a female sidekick to the vigilante detective. Here was a young woman with a personal agenda, not far removed from that of her personal idols, the members of the Beyond The Law (BTL) vigilante team.
Within the tale I’ve used brief passages from Codename: Foxglove, and Crusader. These scenes helped to develop the story and the main character using a mixture of narrative and dialogue, but they’re not simply copied from the other two books. The chosen scenarios are reduced in content, and told from a different point of view.
This story is neither a prequel nor a sequel to Crusader and is, in effect, an overlapping tale. We see how Constance proved her ability before she moved to London. We also gain insight into her character while she’s working with Jason (Crusader) and how she operates when he leaves the Met. There’s no need to have read Crusader; however, I’m hoping that readers will be tempted to see both parts of the team in their own right.
I’m ready to offer regular attention to Another Taste of Honey to create the ongoing story. The first book was set in the USA, but two of the heroine’s targets escaped her summary justice, flying off to destinations unknown. In the sequel, having rested briefly from her first series of special interviews, Honey searches for the detectives who have so far evaded her.
Selena: Sea Nymph is unlike anything else I’ve written, so while it’s taking a while to develop, I do visit the manuscript regularly. Harriet: and other stories is building steadily towards having my usual offering of twelve tales. McLennan has an intro and an outline, but will take time to evolve.
